The WNBA-CBA discussions are shaping up to be a pretty complicated back-and-forth. With the new proposal of $1 million base salary coming in, the WNBA players have demanded 4 major changes in the contract.
And until the CBA agreement is done and dusted, the league cannot hold an expansion draft for the new teams. And while the fate of Toronto Tempo and the Portland Fire are hanging in the balance at the moment, ‘The Athletic’ recently assembled a mock expansion draft.
Now, while the likes of Ben Pickman and Sabreen Merchant had some exciting picks, they heavily favored the Atlanta Dream star Isobel Borlase for joining the Tempo.

Toronto Tempo Might Be Targeting Isobel Borlase
Back in 2024, the Dream drafted Borlase as the 20th overall pick. However, Borlase decided to skip the WNBA season and continue with her career in the WNBL in Australia. While she started her career in the WNBL back in 2021, she recently joined the Bendigo Spirit.
And immediately, her average has skyrocketed. Borlase has dropped 22 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 2.2 steals per game. What’s more interesting is the fact that all of the stats are career-best figures for the young star.
And that’s not all, the 21-year-old’s stellar performance has made her the second-leading scorer in terms of overall points. The only player sitting above her is Mackenzie Holmes. Thus, looking at her sublime record, it is only fitting that Tempo would be looking to rope in a quality young talent into the mix.
