The Indiana Fever has been on a roll. Qualifying in the playoffs without half of their premier stars, not many critics gave Indiana a chance. Instead, they ruled out any possibilities of them advancing further. But that is not how things panned out. Following their victory against the Atlanta Dream, Fever savaged WNBA experts with an epic three-word reply. But then, that was not all. White and her team went on to take a 1-0 lead in the semis against the Las Vegas Aces. And surely enough, Becky Hammon was not at all pleased.
The Aces had been quite a bright prospect this season. With some impeccable performances in the regular season and the playoffs, the team fancied a title run. And right away, such a loss made head coach Hammon utterly frustrated.
Becky Hammon Gives A Strong Message To Las Vegas Aces
Ahead of the semis, Hammon issued a strong warning to the Indiana Fever. Unfortunately, it was Vegas who fell 89-73 to the Fever. And quite expectedly, Hammon was mightily upset. Speaking about her team’s performance, the Aces head coach heaped praises on the likes of Kelsey Mitchell. Lashing out at her team, she termed the Las Vegas’ performance as ‘poor.’

“[Fever] won all three categories and they played with a greater sense of urgency. Clearly, we had no answer for [Kelsey] Mitchell—couldn’t even attempt to slow her down a little bit. I thought it was poor, really poor… she had a hot night and we let her get going,” said Hammon.

Surely, Hammon’s praising Mitchell was a sporting gesture. But she did not have any other choices either. Mitchell was the star of the show, dropping a whopping 34 points to seal the deal for the Fever. Meanwhile, despite things looking a bit sombre, Hammon is still pretty much awestruck by A’ja Wilson’s antics.

Becky Hammon Compares A’ja Wilson With Michael Jordan And LeBron James
The Las Vegas Aces are 0-1 down in the five-game series. However, if they do have a chance to get back and level things, one name that they need desperately is A’ja Wilson. Wilson has recently received a historic fourth WNBA award. And she needs to justify her legendary status as her team is currently trailing. And while it remains to be seen whether Wilson can take her team home, head coach Hammon already seems to be utterly impressed by her antics in the regular season.

Comparing her to the likes of LeBron James and Michael Jordan, Hammon stated, “If she’s the best ever to play in the WNBA, I could make a strong argument she is the best ever to walk this planet.”
Well, as a rule of thumb, James and Jordan are usually considered the best basketball players. With Hammon giving the title to Wilson, fans will be eager to see what happens next.
