A’ja Wilson is one of the multitalented players in the WNBA and dominated the league ever since she entered the league. Dwyane Wade even mentioned that Wilson could defeat NBA players one-on-one while LeBron James named her his sister.
While each of these comparisons justified the 29-year-old’s capabilities, HC Becky Hammon called the most outstanding player to play basketball.
Becky Hammon Calls A’ja Wilson Mount Everest
The Las Vegas Aces’ forward set WNBA record winning the fourth regular season MVP award, most in the league. Ahead of the game 1 against the Indiana Fever, Wilson received the award from her boyfriend Bam Adebayo, While the star got emotional receiving the award, her HC praised her for her dominance in the league.

“There’s no Mt. Rushmore. You are the only one. You’re Everest. By the time it’s all said and done, she will be the greatest to ever do it. Four [MVPs] already say she is. In a league that has continued to get much better, she keeps getting better. You’re watching poetry in motion. You’re watching history. And she’s just 29 years old. She could win four more of these by the time she is finished,” Hammon said.
WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert mentioned that she admired the way Aces’ star led her team in all these years. She called Wilson “a global icon and global ambassador,” not just for the league but also for women’s sports and all sports.

“It hasn’t been easy for us. They counted us out, they wrote us all off, but we showed up every single day and we worked our asses off… it has my name on it and it’s gonna be that, but this one is all of us. There is no way that without each and every one of you guys,” Wilson said.
The Aces are playing against the Indiana Fever in the semifinal and Wilson will be looking to push for the place in the fonal.
