Becky Hammon is surely the happiest person in the WNBA right now. She might not have won the Coach Of The Year, but it hardly matters now. Throughout the season, the Aces’ coach has been a live wire, trying to guide her team to greatness. Hammon warned the Aces against complacency after a 2-0 lead in the finals. And now, as the Las Vegas Aces have made a 4-0 clean sweep, Hammon could not be happier.
Following the triumph, the Aces’ head coach looked quite emotional. And as she sat for the postgame interview, the 48-year-old highlighted how team bonding helped the squad transform into a champion side.
Becky Hammon Loves Coaching The Las Vegas Aces
The Aces’ head coach was always pretty confident with her team. For example, Hammon had made optimistic predictions for Game 2 of the finals. And surely enough, it was A’ja Wilson and co. coming out victorious. So, where did the veteran WNBA coach get so much confidence? Well, Hammon did reveal it all once she faced the media after becoming the champion.

“And this one hits different because it was different. There was probably a lot more adversity than any of us anticipated. And at the end of the day, we’re all human. And for humans that wanted to get it right, we get it right together. And they’re stuck with me. I mean, wherever they go, they’re going to be stuck with me. I just believe in who they are. I admire who they are. And they’re phenomenal,” said Hammon.

Becky Hammon Compares A’ja Wilson With Michael Jordan
Wilson had been one of the strongest pillars of the Aces. While things looked pretty problematic, it was always the veteran star who bailed her team out. In the second half of the season, the Aces won 17 consecutive games as Wilson emerged as the 2025 MVP. Looking at such a dominant showing from the 29-year-old, Hammon could not help but heap praises on the number one star of her team. And in turn, the Aces head coach gave perhaps the greatest compliment of her career to Wilson.

“If she’s the best ever to play in the WNBA, I could make a strong argument she is the best ever to walk this planet,” said Hammon.
Surely, fans usually cite Jordan and James as the GOATs. Now, with Hammon naming Wilson in the same category, it only went on to show how upbeat things are for the Aces.
