In one of the most iconic moments in the league, Wilson scored a phenomenal 2-pointer to clinch the victory in Game 3.

The Aces star played exceptionally well against the Mercury in Game 3. Owing to her impeccable form, Wilson shattered Candace Parker’s postseason field goal record. However, despite such a strong showing, the game seemed to be slipping away from the Aces. This was due to some really gritty performance from Phoenix. As the scores stood level at 88-88, the Aces head coach knew exactly what move to make.
In a recent statement to Kareem Copeland, Hammon revealed her plan as the game was down to the last seconds. As the Aces went into a timeout with just five seconds left on the clock. And without any hesitation, she asked all her players to pass the ball to Wilson and wait. “Get the ball to A’ja and get out of the way,” said Hammon. Adding further to the narrative, Wilson stated, “If a coach has to draw up a play for me, then I’m not doing my job.”
