Breanna Stewart has been looking to make a strong comeback in the WNBA. With things looking a bit subdued last year, this season, Stewart will be hoping to live up to the billing.
However, the WNBA sky is currently clouded with some stalled CBA talks. Following the recent face-to-face meeting with the WNBPA, things have become more complicated.
Amidst all these fiascoes, Stewart herself is facing some significant backlashes. Recently, she faced the heat for her ‘Abolish ICE’ stance. But at the moment, one more issue seems to be bugging her. And Stewart has wasted no time in replying.

Breanna Stewart Comes Clean On Conflict Of Interest Allegations
Stewart joined hands with Unrivaled as the co-owner, along with Napheesa Collier. On the contrary, she is also the VP of WNBA. Now, serving such dual roles in both leagues has subjected her to a lot of criticism. Fans and critics have accused her of having a conflict of interest.
Finally, coming clean about the matter, Stewart spoke her heart out on the ‘Game Recognize Game’ podcast.
“I know a lotta people are kinda like hating about (me) being a part of Unrivaled and also trying to negotiate the WNBA, but it’s like, I want two things to both be successful,” Stewart stated.

She further added, “And literally that’s how I’m looking at it. I’m looking at this from a pure business standpoint and how things can be great for everyone. The only thing that Unrivaled is showing is positive. When you show players on social media, or in games, or wherever the case may be, people watch. So we cannot have that for our summer season in the WNBA.”
Surely, Unrivaled has been looking to provide the female basketball players a platform to showcase their talents in the offseason. Additionally, the league has also offered them a lot of financial support. Meanwhile, despite things looking a bit clouded, Stewart also gave an example of how she juggles both her responsibilities.
Breanna Stewart Details Prioritizing Both Unrivaled And The WNBA

The WNBA and the WNBPA had a crucial meeting this week. Ahead of the all-important day, everybody expected Stewart to be present at the meeting. However, the 31-year-old stated that she won’t be able to be present physically. That’s because she had her duties for Laces BC in the Unrivaled, too.
“There’s moments and times where you have to do both,” Stewart said. “That’s what I’ll be doing on Monday. I want to make sure I’m present in that meeting on Zoom, and at the same time, be ready for our game at 8:45 at night.”
