The WNBA equal pay issue is seemingly wreaking havoc in the league at the moment. In one of the biggest developments, Minnesota Lynx’s star, Napheesa Collier, lashed out at Engelbert for lack of accountability. She pointed out that the organization is not helping the athletes at all. Such a comment was sure to stir heavy rumors in the WNBA realm. And now, if that was not enough, another veteran star, Breanna Stewart, came forward and supported Collier.
With the CBA negotiations ongoing, widespread discontent has arisen among the players. WNBA athletes are demanding a raise on the current revenue share they are entitled to. And with Stewart sharing her views, things are looking pretty serious at the moment.
Breanna Stewart Stands In Unison With Napheesa Collier
Stewart recently appeared in a live discussion at the LWT Summit. And quite expectedly, the conversation shifted towards the recent drama involving the WNBA commissioner. The New York Liberty star immediately pointed out that she stood in unison with Collier. She pointed out how things are not personal, but it is solely about business.

“My reaction to Phee’s statement is I agree with Phee. I stand 100% with Phee and what she said. I think it’s hard to see that kind of interaction transpire,” Stewart said.

A’ja Wilson Extends Her Support Towards Napheesa Collier
Ever since Collier lashed out at Engelbert, the WNBA realm has been buzzing. Expressing discontent towards the meagre share of revenue the league offers in comparison with the NBA, Collier had a lot to say. She even addressed the WNBA authorities as the ‘worst’ leadership in her statement. Now then, as things continue to take a grim turn, the likes of A’ja Wilson also came forward and voiced her support.

“I was honestly disgusted by the comments that Cathy made. But at the same time, I’m very appreciative that we have people like Phee in our committee of players’ association representing us, because that’s what we are going to have to continue to make the push to stand on what we believe in. I’m grateful to have those types of people be able to continue to speak up for us,“ Wilson said.
Well, it is evident that things are changing rapidly in the WNBA. Thus, with the situation looking complicated, it remains to be seen how things pan out next.
