The CBA negotiations do not seem to be getting a fruitful solution anytime soon. With the deadline being pushed back twice, the latest one ends on January 9, 2026. Yet, things are not looking bright for the players at all now, while the WNBA did offer two separate contract offers, both of which were rejected.
Reacting to the latest one, Natasha Cloud recently blasted the WNBA for eliminating team housing. Meanwhile, as tensions continue to rise, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has created considerable tension between the two parties.
And reacting to the same, it was time for Breanna Stewart to make a strong statement. Calling out Silver and Mark Tatum, Stewart gave them quite a strict ultimatum.

Breanna Stewart Makes Clear Statement On Adam Silver’s Role In The WNBPA-WNBA Tension
With the NBA holding majority stakes in the WNBA, Silver is technically Cathy Engelbert’s boss. In a recent statement, the NBA commissioner highlighted that they were taking all necessary measures to ensure a smooth signing of the CBA deal.
Silver also stated that he was very optimistic about how things would eventually fall into place, despite the fact that the contracts had suffered significant setbacks in the past.
However, stepping into the matter, the WNBPA vice-president pointed out, “More often than not, we’re the ones that are willing to compromise and they still aren’t budging. So if they’re not going to budge, we’re going to get to this point where we’re just going to be at a standoff. That’s kind of where we’re at right now. Adam and Mark need to come to the table, we’re more than happy to have that.”

Surely, such a callout makes things even more interesting at the moment. Meanwhile, with things getting quite complicated, two big names of the league, Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark ,also chipped in with their takes.
Angel Reese And Caitlin Clark Chimes In With Their CBA Deal After Breanna Stewart
It has been almost a year since the players have been asking for a better revenue-sharing deal. And as there are no signs of the scenario changing, both Reese and Clark have chimed in with their take.
“Everybody’s very intentional about what we want. We’re riding together on everything. So, I’m preparing for a season like everybody else, but it’s really important for us to come to a common ground that we can all agree on. It’s all fair, and everybody benefits from it,” Reese said.
Caitlin Clark shares her thoughts on state of CBA negotiations, avoiding a lockout, etc. at Duke.

Clark added, “That’s what our fans crave — the product on the floor. That’s what the fans want to show up for. So, it’s business, and it’s a negotiation, and there has to be compromise on both sides. And we’re starting to get down to the wire of it.”
Thus, with things looking problematic, fans are now eagerly awaiting to see how the future unfolds.
