Fans were expecting a positive outcome from the WNBA-WNBPA meeting on February 2. Sadly, this time, the league didn’t even have a proposal to discuss. Fans took their frustration out on Kelsey Plum and Napheesa Collier, who missed the meeting due to travel delays. Breanna Stewart, though, was available for the meet on Zoom call along with 40 other players.
The WNBPA’s vice president was not happy at all seeing the progress and the league’s attitude towards the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and she now opened up fire against the league.

Breanna Stewart Gets Fiery On CBA Delay
The former UConn star was the first player to give a positive update on the CBA discussions, as she looked forward to the meeting on Monday. But the situation gets even worse when the league fails to prepare a proposal for the meeting.
Angry on the topic, the Liberty star spoke with Myles Turner on the ‘Game Recognizes Game’ podcast.
When the NBA star asked about the possibility of a lockout, Stewart said, “We have approved the strike authorization, which means that we are able to formally lock out whenever we want because we have majority of players’ votes behind us. For me, the closer it gets to WNBA season[…] we’re prepared to not play[…], but we want to play.”

The stern warning about the possible lockout would be an alarm for the league to seek a solution on the CBA terms. Stewie, though, added that not many players would survive without a WNBA contract.
Apart from her WNBA duties as a player and a WNBPA vice president, the veteran forward is also co-owner of the Unrivalled league and a player on the Mist BC team.
Breanna Stewart is Leading Mist BC To a Comfortable Position
Even though the WNBA is searching for answers, the Unrivaled is at a completely different stage and is seeking new venues to expand. While the success belongs to players and teams in the league, Stewart’s Mist BC is sitting comfortably in third place with six wins and three losses.

The side had a strong five-game winning run led by its veteran pair, Stewie and Allisha Gray. While Stewart is one of the high-performing UConn stars in the Unrivaled, Grey’s contribution to the Mist’s success is equally important.
The team will have remaining matches against Phantom BC, Lunar Owl BC, Breeze BC, Vinyl NBC, and Rose BC, four of which are ranked below them in the standings and can expect to proceed to the playoffs.
