Unrivaled’s 3-on-3 venture has only entered its second season. And already, things are looking extremely promising. With the top names like Breanna Stewart, Paige Bueckers, and more from the WNBA joining in, this year’s tournament is turning out to be even more interesting.
Keeping aside the entertainment factors, the league has also served as a platform for a comeback. For example, following a muted WNBA season, Aaliyah Edwards is currently making merry. And now, to make matters more interesting, the upcoming 1-on-1 contest will have the fans on the edge of their seats.

Can Breanna Stewart Thwart The Paige Bueckers Threat?
Just like last year, Unrivaled will lace up with its 32-player field set as it’s time for yet another 1-on-1 tournament. With a whopping $200,000 on the line, players will be eager to pocket the prize money with a sublime display.
And the very first name that comes up as the potential winner is that of Stewart. Beginning Wednesday, Stewart has already earned the top seeding for the three-night gala event. With her incredible ball control and finesse, it will be really difficult for her opponent to contain her.

Bueckers have already taken the Unrivaled by storm. Participating in the free-throw challenge, the Dallas Wings’ star pocketed $50,000. Surely, she has her eyes set on the 1-on-1 tournament, too. Her journey will begin against Kate Martin. Meanwhile, as Stewart will be focusing on the win, she was recently involved in a conflict of interest controversy.
Breanna Stewart Clarifies Her Stance On Conflict Of Interest

Stewart holds some prestigious positions in the female basketball realm. While she is the co-owner of Unrivaled, the star player is also the WNBA Vice President. Following her dual involvement, accusations had Stewart having a conflict of interest. Speaking on the topic, the 31-year-old clarified the confusion.
“I know a lotta people are kinda like hating about (me) being a part of Unrivaled and also trying to negotiate the WNBA, but it’s like, I want two things to both be successful,” Stewart said.

“And literally that’s how I’m looking at it. I’m looking at this from a pure business standpoint and how things can be great for everyone. The only thing that Unrivaled is showing is positive. When you show players on social media, or in games, or wherever the case may be, people watch. So we cannot have that for our summer season in the WNBA.”
Thus, with things looking upbeat, fans cannot wait for the 1-on-1 tournament to start.
