The WNBA is looking to accelerate CBA completion. The league sent its latest proposal on February 20, but the WNBA held firm at 15% revenue share despite players’ 27.5% demand. Though this was seen as a possible deal-breaker, the WNBA dropped another surprise, setting March 10 as the deadline for CBA discussions. The WNBPA vice president, Breanna Stewart, had been vocal about the CBA situation and had much to say about the deadline announcement as well.
The Liberty star, as mentioned earlier, said the players are ready to fight for their ‘fair share’ and also lauded the unity among the players in the CBA discussions. Now that a new date has come into focus, the forward casts doubts over the same.

Breanna Stewart Questions CBA Deadline Date Feasibility
The veteran forward spoke openly about the revenue-sharing model being the major roadblock in the discussions, and both parties are ready to stick to their proposals. Though the percentages in a negotiable aspect of the sharing, the model remains a key stumbling block.
On the March 10 deadline, the player spoke with Fox Sports and said, “I don’t know. I don’t know if a deal gets done by March 10. Part of me wants to say yes, but part of me is like, ‘Negotiations have been really slow going back and forth.’ There needs to be some serious movement within the next week. Literally, I don’t know.”
The WNBA told the WNBPA and its teams on Monday that a new collective bargaining agreement must be agreed to by March 10 for the 2026 schedule not to be impacted, sources told @alexaphilippou.

Breanna Stewart, With a Bold Step Joins the EuroLeague
The former UConn star is one of the WNBA’s top players and holds a vice president position with the association. While her voice has a lot of weight in the meetings, her actions also impact the proceedings.
So far, she has been criticizing the league’s approach; she shocked the fanbase by signing with EuroLeague team Fenerbahce. While the WNBA season starts on May 8, the EuroLeague finals conclude a day earlier, which contradicts the league’s policy requiring early reporting on players.
