Brittney Griner is not in a good mood at the moment. As Griner dropped her honest take on Atlanta’s championship potential this year, things did not quite add up. Playing against the Indiana Fever, the Dream had the perfect start. Clinching a dominant victory, Griner and co. had one more game to win. Unfortunately, facing off against a gritty Fever, the Dream had to bow out of the competition with two back-to-back losses. However, despite the grim situation, Griner recently reacted to Kara Lawson becoming Team USA’s coach.
The Dream star had been in fine form this season. It was her antics on the hardwood that helped Dream set a franchise record of 30 wins this season. And while she will be looking to bounce back in the coming season, the latest Team USA news seems to have made her happy.
Brittney Griner Congratulates Kara Lawson Following Her Team USA Appointment
In a recent announcement from Team USA, Kara Lawson has been named as the head coach of the team. With the Los Angeles Olympics coming up, Lawson is expected to carry the team through to LA28 and come up with a championship performance. Meanwhile, this particular development seems to have caught Griner’s attention.

Expressing her happiness, the Dream star took to her Instagram stories and posted a picture of Lawson. She then went on to caption her story with a simple “Congratulations.” Surely, Griner’s tryst with Team USA has been quite a pleasant one. She has a couple of World Cups under her belt, along with three Olympic gold medals.

Meanwhile, taking up the new role, Lawson has expressed her desire to lead the team to some more Olympic gold medals in the future. Now then, Griner’s season might have come to an end. But before bowing out, the Dream star did accomplish quite a few outstanding accolades.

Brittney Griner Moves Up WNBA All-Time Rebounding List
The Atlanta Dream had been looking like a championship prospect in the regular season. Putting on a stunning show, Dream’s shocking win against the Liberty fueled an award race. And most of the good things happened due to the superb performance of one particular name- Brittney Griner. Back in late August, the Dream fell to the Aces 81-75. But despite the loss, it was Griner who made merry.

In the opening four minutes of the game, the Atlanta star dropped three rebounds. And with her second of the game, Griner climbed up to the 17th spot on the All-Time WNBA rebounding list. And this was not all. She also completed a milestone of achieving 2500 career rebounds. Griner will now look to pile up more rebounds in the upcoming season to overtake Swim Cash for clinching the 16th spot.
