The NFL season is on a roll, with the playoff picture becoming clearer with each passing game. Teams and players are focusing on each possession to finish the regular season on a high note for a favorable draw in the postseason. Incidentally, the players are still showing their love for the WNBA, as the NFLPA was the first player organization backing the WNBPA in CBA talks.
Now, Bryce Young came up with the gesture amid the lockout situation hovering around the WNBA. The 24-year-old star was not in typical pregame gear and grabbed eyeballs with his choice.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosted the Carolina Panthers, with both teams having nearly identical records at the time. The Panthers need one win to clinch a playoff berth since 2017. But instead of the game preparations, Young’s bold attire was the talk of the town.
The young star is famous for his choice of clothing, and for the game against the Tampa Bay side, he arrived wearing a unique WNBA-inspired hockey jersey. The fashion choice drew immediate attention online.
As for the choice, there could be two different reasons. Firstly, he showed his support for the 2026 WNBA season amid the huge CBA talks fiasco between the league and the players’ organization. Or it could be a tribute to the league where the Charlotte Sting was a member a few seasons ago.

According to the latest update on CBA, the league and the players’ association are still negotiating a middle ground on several key topics. Major blockage refers to the revenue and revenue-sharing model. The association wants an NBA-style revenue-sharing model, and around 30% of the share in the same.
As negotiations over a new CBA near the Jan. 9 deadline, the WNBA and WNBPA remain far apart on several key issues: what a revenue sharing system should look like, what should be considered revenue & how to account for expenses.

But the league is ready to share 50% of the profit after expenses. The players’ association is ready for the strike, as the majority of its members support the authorities’ decision. President Nneka Ogwumike made it clear that the WNBPA wants the 2026 Season but also aims for a fair CBA after the strike vote.
