For basketball fans, one of the biggest debates has always revolved around that of LeBron James and Michael Jordan. However, with Jordan retired long ago, the recent debates about who the face of basketball is were limited to James and Stephen Curry.
However, in a recent report published, it looks like both James and Curry have stiff competition at hand. And that is none other than Caitlin Clark. Now, it is pretty obvious that Clark has taken the WNBA realm by storm ever since her debut last year.
Owing to her growing popularity, Forbes recently crowned Clark among the most powerful women in sports. And now, with her recent soar in the popularity meter, the Indiana Fever star is threatening to take the crown of James and Curry!
Is Caitlin Clark The New Face Of Basketball?
In a recent update on X, formerly known as Twitter, it was revealed that, according to YouGov market research, Clark is the third most popular basketball star in the world. And she is just behind the likes of James and Curry.

According to the stats, in the third quarter of 2025, LeBron James has a 92% popularity, followed by Curry’s 72%, and Clark’s 68%. Now, this was surely a significant factor considering how much the WNBA had lagged behind the NBA in recent years.

Well, despite such news taking the hoops world by storm, for the WNBA fans, this seemed pretty normal. Clark’s presence has brought some incredible numbers for the WNBA. In her rookie season last year, the league garnered a whopping 54 million viewers across ABC, CBS, ESPN, ESPN2, ION, and NBA TV. And that’s not all. Clark recently even got an offer to judge the Miss USA pageant.

The hype around Clark has taken over the fashion world, too. Miss Indiana, Sydney Shrewsbury, recently dressed up in Indiana Fever’s colors and also sported Clark’s jersey number in one of her walks. While the spot garnered a lot of attention, Shrewsbury wanted to take things up a notch.

Following her walk, the model told TMZ that she wanted the Fever star to come and judge the finals. “I will say we would love to have her here at the Finals, they’re on Friday,” Shrewsbury said. “Also, it’s not up to me, but it would be cool if she could judge in the future as well.”
Unfortunately, despite Shrewsbury’s offer, Clark remained tight-lipped, expressing her lack of interest in the matter.
