Caitlin Clark may currently be on Team USA’s radar with the FIBA World Cup qualifiers games; the star’s ascent started with her college career. Iowa Hawkeyes’ most decorated star left the program with two NCAA finals appearances and Big Ten championships. She even finished as the NCAA top scorer with her unguardable range.
Though the star is now making a name with the Indiana Fever franchise in the WNBA, she is still in touch with her alma mater and played the 2025 preseason game at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Clark even credited her Iowa Coach, Lisa Bluder, as her true inspiration over WNBA legend Maya Moore. And now she showed her love for the young star in Iowa’s current roster.

Caitlin Clark’s Admiration For Chazadi Wright
The Iowa Hawkeyes, post-Lisa Bunder and Caitlin Clark era, are looking to push for similar glory. The side, under Jan Jensen, is currently fifth in the Big 10 conference with an undefeated conference record and an 11–2 overall record. While the road seems harsh with the stronger opponents on the road, one player certainly stood out for the team – Chazadi Wright.
Her gameplay also impressed CC, who was regularly in touch with Jensen, sharing her views and even general topics with her former assistant coach. In a recent interview, the coach revealed that the Fever guard is pleased with the team’s progress and has a special affection for Wright.
She said, “When we have a big win, she really loves Chit-Chat’s [Chazadi Wright] play. She thinks she’s really fun, so she’s texting me about her sometimes. I think she likes our young kids.”

The Atlanta-born star is averaging 12.1 points, 3.7 assists, and two rebounds per game, shooting 50% from the field. The guard is third in the minutes and points for the side, helping the side to top the conference.
The coach mentioned that the WNBA All-Star hasn’t attended the game yet, but she regularly messages her after every game. The 2024 rookie’s recent social media activity also highlights her significant involvement with the program.
Caitlin Clark Still Following Iowa Hawkeye Games
Even though the playmaker was out of action during the 025 season, she was on the sidelines supporting her Fever team and even showed her discontent with the referee’s decisions against her team. The player didn’t differentiate her attitude for her Iowa team either, as she defended Taylor Stremlow after a technical foul was called on the player.
When the player received a foul in the close game, the star took to her X, formerly known as Twitter account, and wrote, “No way they just gave stremlow a tech for that🤣🤣🤣 refs have to let the girls show emotion.”

Caitlin Clark is also famous for showing her emotions on the floor and involving the crowd in the game with her attitude, too. She even met her former teammates during the 2025 WNBA games. Clark even poked fun at ex-Iowa teammate Jada Gyamfi, mimicking her signature 3-point celebration.
The 2025 rookie might have left the Iowa premises, but her impact still lasts on the program. Even her video featuring deep threes from her Iowa Hawkeyes days still goes viral.
