Caitlin Clark did not quite have the season she was looking for. After taking on the WNBA realm by storm, Clark was expected to continue her dream run. Unfortunately, her injury made her sit out the entire season. However, despite her absence, the 23-year-old’s impact on the league has been quite significant. Becky Hammon recently credited Clark for the WNBA’s growth.
And now, trying to relax in the offseason, the Fever star has turned her attention elsewhere. Clark has been known to take an interest outside of the WNBA. And in a recent update, she was spotted rooting for the Chicago Cubs. While the Cubs are up for a stern matchup, the wishes from the Fever icon will surely do them a world of good.
Caitlin Clark Hypes Up The Chicago Cubs Ahead Of Crucial Game
The Chicago Cubs will be squaring off against the Milwaukee Brewers. And there is a lot at stake in the game. Game 5 of the National League Division Series will be a winner-takes-all affair. And the Cubs have a lot of reasons to believe that they can emerge victorious over the top-seeded Brewers. On paper, their lineup looks extremely strong and menacing. And with their star player Kyle Tucker, becoming a free agent at the end of the season, the stakes are all the more high for Chicago.

Thus, when Clark had some words of encouragement, the Cubs’ fans immediately liked it. The 23-year-old WNBA star took to her X, formerly known as Twitter account, and wrote, “Come on Cubbies!!!!!”

Meanwhile, Clark does have a connection with the club. After all, the Cubs have their Triple-A club located near the WNBA star’s hometown of West Des Moines. Meanwhile, as Clark tries to find some happy distractions, people keep dragging her name into the CBA negotiations. As Napheesa Collier’s outburst against Cathy Engelbert has made the news, Dan Patrick had some stern words for the league.

Dan Patrick Believes That WNBA Needs Caitlin Clark More
The ongoing CBA negotiations have turned quite complicated. While the players are not backing down anytime soon, recent comments from the WNBA commissioner have sparked widespread outrage. Collier recently pointed out that Engelbert allegedly commented on how Clark must be thankful to the league for making $16 million. And this is what Patrick did not like at all. He pointed out how the league must respect the likes of Clark.

“Are they going to make $300,000? Maybe someday, but Caitlin Clark shouldn’t make $78,000 a year and then be thankful that she gets to make $16 million off the court. The WNBA needs Caitlin Clark; Caitlin Clark does not need the WNBA,” said Patrick.
Thus, as things grow more complicated, fans now wait to see what happens next. And with most of the athletes looking to get a fair share of the revenue, the CBA negotiations surely have a lot of twists to come.
