Caitlin Clark is not new to the NFL. The player follows games closely while showing her support for the Kansas City Chiefs in the league. Though her favorite side will not be in the playoffs this season, the player is still charged up for the season, as Clark predicted the Super Bowl winner.
But it’s not only the games and results that she follows. The player is aware of the players and also the history of the sport, which was evident in her recent interview, where she reflected on the possible return of Philip Rivers.

When the Fever guard was at the Indiana Colts’ game, everyone was happy to see her backing the Indiana franchise. But she didn’t wear the custom jersey, staying loyal to the Chiefs. Kylie Kelce praised Clark’s Kansas City Chiefs loyalty at the time. But that didn’t stop the star playmaker praising one of the Colts stars, Philip Rivers.
As the 44-year-old returned to the action after five years, the players gave their reaction on the ‘New Heights’ podcast as she said, “You’ve got to give him a lot of credit, and he was pretty good. I was worried he’s like going to pop an Achilles. Obviously, when I first saw that online, I was like ‘oh, that’s got to be fake news’ because there’s so much fake news out there these days.”

Rivers played from 2004 to 2020 and was an eight-time Pro Bowler. The quarterback already won the ‘NFL Comeback Player of the Year’ award in 2013, but this time the comeback is real. The former passing yard leader mentioned that he is hoping that his return would help other players to learn.

The 2024 rookie played in just 13 games and was out of action due to multiple injuries. She later described her injury rehabilitation process as a “long and tough” year of recurring issues, including a significant challenge where she had to “learn to run again”.
Sidelined for most of her 2025 WNBA season with the Indiana Fever due to multiple lower-body injuries, she has been open about the physical and mental toll of the experience. But the good news is that the star is back in action and returning to her 100% fitness.
