The Indiana Fever’s offense without Caitlin Clark received massive praise for the 2025 performance, but one thing that also kept them in games was their defense. One key aspect impacting the defence was the addition of Briann January, who returned to the franchise as an assistant coach in 2025.
In the offseason, the coach was with NBA Jr. Academy kids, looking to boost their gameplay for the 3-on-3 games in London. Amid speculation about her possible appointment to another franchise, Stephanie White endorses Briann January and Austin Kelly for the WNBA head coaching role. So, while watching her train the NBA Jr.s, CC expressed her feelings.

Briann January is famous for her game reading and defensive plays as she improved the Fever’s numbers in just one season. Their defensive rating went from 107.5 in 2024 to 101.8 in 2025. Even though CC was out most of the season, she saw all the training that went into this massive leap.
So, when the WNBA shared pictures from the event on Instagram, they showed January interacting with the kids. Clark commented on the same, resharing the photo on her Instagram story and even tagging January.
She wrote, “I know she had these poor kids just repping defensive slides for hours.”

The Fever side’s improvement speaks volumes about the efforts of the former All-Defensive team member in the training sessions, and more importantly, she will be part of the franchise for the upcoming season, too.

While there are no roster movements, due to stalled CBA discussions, the Fever side added Rob Dosier as assistant coach, reporting to Keith Porter. The former Indiana Mad Ants coach already worked with many NBA players, including megastar Kobe Bryant. Knowing his abilities, Clark lauded Dosier’s addition.

Initially, CC had her chance to work with Chris Brickley, the coach of LeBron James and Kevin Durant. As of now, the player has not yet decided on the possibility; fans urge her to train with Chris Brickley.
