Caitlin Clark has been the talk of the WNBA town ever since her arrival on the big scene. While she turned the entire league on its head last year, the league braced for a storm this year. Unfortunately, with her groin injury wreaking havoc, the 23-year-old had to sit out the entire season after only playing 13 games. But that has not stopped the chatters. In a recent statement, Valkyries coach Natalie Nakase praised Clark despite her absence. And now, Baltimore Orioles icon Cal Ripken Jr. seems utterly impressed with Clark and her teammate, Lexie Hull.
Much like Clark, Hull too, has been a pivotal part of the Indiana Fever squad. In fact, with the big names gone, Hull has taken it on herself the responsibility of carrying the team through.
Cal Ripken Jr. Acknowledges Caitlin Clark And Lexie Hull
Clark has been a constant presence for the Indiana Fever. Even in the face of her injury, she has been on the sidelines for almost every game. Actively involved in the game from the sidelines, Clark has also shown her frustration with the referees. Meanwhile, after Fever’s emphatic victory against the Chicago Sky, the 2024 rookie decided to take a break from the basketball arena.

The Fever frontline star, along with Lexie Hull, was spotted at the home game of the Baltimore Orioles, where they went up against the Los Angeles Dodgers. While the Camden Park crowd looked buzzed up after catching a glimpse of Hull and Clark, Orioles icon Cal Ripken Jr. had some words of acknowledgment for the WNBA duo.
“Great meeting @CaitlinClark22 , Lexie Hull and the gang tonight at the game … @Orioles gear looks good on you!” wrote Ripken Jr.

Both the Fever teammates had company as they enjoyed the MLB spectacle. Clark was accompanied by her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, while Hull went with her man, Will Matthiessen. Meanwhile, as the Fever is pushing for the playoffs, Hull recently had some heartfelt words to share for Clark.
Lexie Hull Impressed With Caitlin Clark’s Maturity
Sitting out after only playing 13 games has been a painful feeling for Clark. Earlier, she had already made her feelings known about how hard it was watching her team toil in the middle from the sidelines. Yet, the 2024 Rookie of the Year showed impeccable maturity to keep calm and trust the process. And this is something that Hull took note of. Her fellow mate’s maturity utterly impressed her.

“I’ve been impressed with her maturity through it. It’s not easy to go day-to-day and continue to think, ‘Maybe this is my day, maybe it’s not.’ But she continues to come in and be the person that she is. She’s funny and a jokester. She brings energy and a light to situations that could be really dark. So I think, more than anything, I’m just proud of her and her resiliency throughout this year. Hopefully we’ll see her back out there,” Hull said.
Well, it will now be on Hull and Co. to ensure that the Indiana Fever has a decent run this season. And with Clark returning the next season, all eyes are solely fixed on her from now on.
