The ongoing CBA negotiations have been getting all messed up in recent times. So far, the league has pushed the deadline back three times, adding to the players’ frustration. Things have become so complicated that the WNBA players are now ready to go on strike at any moment.
Owing to the stalemate, the 2026 season is pretty much in doldrums at the moment. And while the WNBA dropped the schedule for this year, the negotiations are far from over. Thankfully, such a tumultuous situation has led the face of the tournament, Caitlin Clark, to voice her opinions.

What Did Caitlin Clark Say About The CBA Tensions?
The Indiana Fever guard is usually focusing more on her game. Till now, there haven’t been many instances where she has taken a public shot at the WNBA. But now, as things threaten to get out of control, the 24-year-old, too, looks utterly frustrated.
While it has been months since the back-and-forth has continued, the former Iowa Hawkeyes star wants it to be settled as soon as possible. Speaking with Front Office Sports during a media interaction, Clark said, “I don’t understand why we don’t just get in a room and iron it out and shake hands. That’s how business is. You look each other in the eye, you shake hands, you respect both sides. For me, that’s what I love to see.”
The WNBPA submitted a counterproposal to the WNBA on Friday evening.

Saturday at USAB training camp Breanna Stewart and Caitlin Clark both shared their thoughts on what they believe could help get a deal across the finish line. https://t.co/dL4Wk9qYRy
Surely, it is evident that the 2024 Rookie of the Year wants no more fuss. Speaking of sit-down interviews, the WNBA and the players’ union did meet in New York back in February. Unfortunately, despite a lot of hype, the meeting fell flat. In fact, Nneka Ogwumike also accused the WNBA of being ‘unprepared’ for the meeting.

Meanwhile, following Clark’s bold take, Breanna Stewart also seconded the thought.
Breanna Stewart Doubles Down On Caitlin Clark’s CBA Solution

The WNBA issued a March 10 ultimatum for the union to sort things out. But right now, the sides don’t look likely to meet that deadline either. Now then, with the 2-time WNBA All-Star laying down her straightforward solution, Stewart seemed to have liked it very much.
“I think that would be great of us all to sit in a room until we really get it done. If that means sitting in there for hours and hours at a time, let’s do it. That’s for the better of the player. While a situation like this has never happened before, there’s a first time for everything,” seconded Stewart.
Surely, the intent is clear from the players. But with the revenue-sharing percentage still a gray area, fans will be eager to see what’s next.
