The WNBA’s growing popularity has been the talk of the sports world for the last two seasons. Two of the most popular players on the block – Cailtin Clark and Angel Reese became catalysts for its growth with the Fever guard getting much credit for the league’s newfound ‘reach’.
In one of the interviews, New York Liberty Owner Joe Tsai credited Clark for quadrupling WNBA viewership, and it’s not limited to the USA only. CC brought in many international fans to the league, with many flying in to specially attend her WNBA games.
Playing for the national side, CC recently played in Puerto Rico, which was evidently her first game after injury in the 2025 season. Fans in the South American country gave her a huge welcome as she entered the court.

Caitlin Clark Receives Huge Welcome From Puerto Rico Crowd
Team USA entered the World Cup qualifiers as defending champions, title favorite and also the most talented side in the competition. Along with that, the addition of the young stars added another adjective to the team – fan favorite.
Although previous Team USA sides received a grand welcome wherever they competed, they didn’t match the aura and fan following of the 2026 roster. The most-followed team member was CC, who entered the court to huge cheers from the crowd.

The Puerto Rico Coach Batista was looking to put his side against the toughest opponent from the competition. The hosts had strong support from the crowd, while Team USA also had strong backing. Incidentally, Coach’s daughter was among the supporters of Team USA, especially Paige Bueckers and Clark.
The Puerto Rican coach Jerry Batista’s daughter held a sign that reads, “Coach Batista is my dad, but… I’m here to see Paige & Caitlin.”
