Caitlin Clark might now be a part of the Indiana Fever. But she has not forgotten her roots, which are the Iowa Hawkeyes. It was here that the 23-year-old was shaped to become a champion baller of the future. And that’s the reason why Clark keeps going back to the Hawkeyes.
Only recently, Clark cited Hawkeyes’ coach Lisa Bluder as her true inspiration. And that’s not all. Amidst her extremely busy schedule, Clark has taken time out to keep a close watch on the latest happenings with the Hawkeyes.
Commenting on the same, the Fever star has recently slammed the referees for a foul on Taylor Stremlow.

Caitlin Clark Defends Taylor Stremlow Following Technical Foul
The Hawkeyes faced off against Fairfield in what was an extremely closely contested game. And while the tempers were flaring, late in the first half, things got a bit awry for the Hawkeyes. The referee issued Iowa’s Stremlow a technical foul, which even left the Big Ten Network broadcasters confused.
Soon after the call, they began wondering whether the referee had given the foul to Stremlow or to her head coach, Jan Jansen. However, as it turned out, the referee booked Stremlow for showing emotions after pulling off a stellar block on a Fairfield player.
Looking at the outcome, Clark did not seem too pleased with the booking. Instead, she took to her X, formerly known as Twitter account and wrote, “No way they just gave stremlow a tech for that🤣🤣🤣 refs have to let the girls show emotion.”

Surely, the burst of emotions from Stremlow was understandable. Baylor previously out-blocked Iowa 11–1. Unfortunately, it looks like the Hawkeye star chose the wrong officials to show her emotional side to. Meanwhile, speaking of Clark and her Hawkeyes teammates, she recently reunited with none other than Gabbie Marshall.
Caitlin Clark Happy To Be Back With Gabbie Marshall In Indiana
At the moment, the WNBA scenario is not ideal. With speculations about Clark’s potential earnings after the CBA revision going wild, the Fever star does not seem to be bothered by the same.

And to further lighten her mood, Clark’s longtime teammate from Iowa, Marshall, has now moved to Indianapolis. On Sunday, Marshall’s partner, Spencer Touro, announced his job at the ETS Performance. He will be serving the role of the director of operations in Indianapolis.
Thus, with Clark’s Iowa connections still running strong, fans are now eager to see how she can channel her Iowa roots to take the WNBA by storm in the next year once again.
