The Indiana Fever had great expectations coming into the WNBA season. After all, they had some exceptional talents lining up for them. Take, for example, Caitlin Clark. After a blitzkrieg of a rookie season, the 23-year-old was expected to carry forward the momentum. However, her groin injury midway had Stephanie White delivering grim updates. Next up, Sophie Cunningham injured her knee. However, in the most brutal failures, ION broadcast elevated fans’ hopes by making a huge mistake.
Fever recently squared off against the Minnesota Lynx. With the Lynx already a powerhouse, Indiana would have needed to put their best foot forward. But while White did field the best available starting five from an injury-plagued roster, the graphics of ION showed a dream lineup.
ION Lists Sophie Cunningham And Caitlin Clark As Indiana Fever Starters
While Clark has been vocal about her toughest challenges this season, fans still await her return. However, the Fever fans drifted into a dream realm for a moment. During the game’s broadcast, ION had graphics pop up that shocked the hoops realm. With the Fever leading the game 41-33, Stephanie White’s starters showed Kelsey Mitchell, Odyssey Sims, and Natasha Howard. Well, there is seemingly nothing wrong with the names.
But the next two names had all the spotlight drawn to themselves. It showed Sophie Cunningham and Caitlin Clark! For a split second, it appeared that both Cunningham’s MCL and Clark’s groin had miraculously healed. And Fever is finally starting with their strongest lineup for the first time.

Unfortunately for the fans, all this was just a huge mix-up on the part of ION. Both Cunningham and Clark are currently under strict observation, and there is no confirmed timeline as to when they will return. Meanwhile, as Fever succumbed to a 90-95 defeat to the Lynx, they added yet another name to their growing injury list.

Chloe Bibby Joins The Likes Of Sophie Cunningham And Caitlin Clark
Injuries are having a great time with the Indiana Fever. Till now, only the big names of Cunningham and Clark have made all the noise. But in reality, there are a host of athletes who are out of the game due to injury woes. Chloe Bibby was the latest to get added to Fever’s list of woes. The management had recently extended her a rest-of-season deal following her impressive antics. However, before the start of the Minnesota game, Bibby opted to sit out following left knee soreness.
Although Bibby’s injury might not be major, her absence was felt during the Lynx game. Especially when Odyssey Sims went back injured and went into the locker room, but did not return. Apart from the names already mentioned, Fever is also missing the services of Sydney Colson (left knee) and Aari McDonald (right foot). Thus, with the side continuing to deplete further, the Fever are in for a seemingly rocky road to the playoffs.
