After five years, including the college basketball seasons, Caitlin Clark missed her first competitive game in the 2025 WNBA season. Many thought it would take 15 days or so to see the player on the floor and lead the Fever offense.
Still, recurring injuries and multiple hits put her out of the game for a longer period till the 24-year-old finally announced her inability to play for the 2025 season.
Many eyes were on her health updates, and finally, Clark shared a positive injury update after swinging at Annika Pro-Am. Though this gave fans some relief, her recent presence at the Team USA training facility got them excited.

Fans React To Caitlin Clark’s Participation In Training Camp
During the exit interview, Clark made her team USA plans clear, and decided to avoid any other league participation to stay fit for the international games. While her injury was a significant concern regarding her participation, the former Iowa star worked hard on it and is now fit for 5-on-5 games.
Team USA added 10 young stars to the lineup for the World Cup qualifier, announcing the training camp on December 12 at Duke University. Recently, they shared pictures of WNBA superstars arriving for the practice session.

Interestingly, there were chatters around the starting five for the side, mainly at the point guard position, with players like Bueckers, Plum, Clark, and Sonia Citron capable of taking over the position, along with the veterans in the team.
Analyst Predicts Caitlin Clark to Get Starting PG Role
According to Geno Auriemma, Paige Bueckers should be the starting point guard for the national team, calling her the natural successor to Sue Bird. But analyst Robin Lundberg has another theory.
Lundberg said, “Caitlin Clark has been invited to the camp. There’s no more controversy. She will be on the team. She will be the starting point guard, barring anything unusual.”
As per Lundberg, there is no better starting guard than Clark. She is a natural playmaker and also an explosive scorer who could take the game away from the opposition early in the game.
