Caitlin Clark’s season-ending announcement hit hard as many fans were looking forward to seeing the player coming in for the Indiana Fever’s title push in the 2025 season. The player took a bold step, declaring her unavailability for any competitive games during the offseason as she made her stance clear on Team USA’s schedule.
She was part of Team USA’s December training camp for the FIBA World Cup qualifiers and, after selection, also attended the March camp before the actual competition, and now is set for her debut, taking the center stage on March 11.
Ahead of the game, though, the player made a special request to her followers, which might surprise many fans.

Caitlin Clark Taking Cautious Steps On USA Basketball Debut
Fever fans followed updates on the 2024 rookie’s injury, looking for her possible return and availability for the upcoming season. In one of the interviews, the player also spoke about injury challenges after playing only 13 games in the 2025 WNBA season, which highlights how the rehabilitation process and ‘wait’ changes her mindset and approach to the game.
In the recent interview, too, the player mentioned difficulty in making a ‘return’ after a long break and added, “I put myself in the best possible shape I could be in at this point. Sometimes the first game is always the hardest, but once you get in the flow of the game, you figure things out. But it’s definitely gonna be quite a few games in a short period of time.”

Her words indirectly hint at staying real on the floor. It’s important to note that Team USA will play five games in seven days, which will be a bigger challenge for CC and even for other players, too.
In an earlier interview, Clark admitted feeling nervous about rust before the USA FIBA World Cup Qualifiers. But the competitive star is still aiming for the highest honor in the competition.
Caitlin Clark Aiming For Glory With Senior National Team
Team USA has been one of the most successful sides in the FBA Competitions and also at the Olympic Games. They will enter the competition as defending champions and aim for their fifth consecutive and 12th overall World Cup title. The 2024 rookie also has similar wishes as she recalled her ‘dream’.
Recalling her memory of watching players’ jerseys hung on the wall in honor of their duty for the country, the 2024 WNBA Rookie said, “My eyes were just so wide. I thought it was the coolest thing in the world. We’re 15 or 16 years old and dreaming about doing that one day.”
I asked Caitlin Clark who her favorite Olympic basketball players were growing up: "My favorite Olympians growing up definitely Maya Moore, Sue Bird, Diana Taurasi." 🎥 : @usabasketball pic.twitter.com/eK8nZ58dWT
