The Indiana Fever’s ‘never give up’ attitude was evident throughout the 2025 season. They won the Commissioner’s Cup title, advanced to the playoffs, and pushed the strong contender side to overtime of Game 5 – an elimination game despite injuries to key players like Caitlin Clark. Pumped up by the performance, Sophie Cunningham warned the league that the Fever team will be back for everyone in the upcoming seasons.
Her intentions clearly showed how much she enjoyed her time with the Indiana franchise. She also shared a few photos from the 2025 season, with key moments defining her time in the Fever jersey. But the Fever rookie, CC, wants more.
Caitlin Clark Wants Sophie Cunningham To Re-Sign With Fever
Stephanie White had to dig deep into her squad to deal with the injuries to her star players. Good thing for the team? Everyone stepped up and delivered their best basketball on the court. And after the exit in the semifinal, everyone was heartbroken. Aliyah Boston shared a heartfelt message for her teammates while other players showed love and a ‘proud feeling’ for their season.

Sophie also showed support for the team and shared a post showing her individual season performances. In a 16-photo post, the 29-year-old star showed most of the key moments during her time in Indiana. She wrote, “15 new friends, a couple fines (&fights), a new tooth, a new knee, and a happy heart …. year 7 is one for the books.”
Clark was quick to respond to the post. The superstar playmaker liked the post and commented, “Time to run it back” with a heart emoji.

Her reaction was a clear indication that the 2024 rookie wishes to see Cunningham on the Fever roster and is willing to win the title. While the former Iowa star is still under a rookie contract with the Fever team, Cunningham is an unrestricted free agent, allowing the 29-year-old forward to sign with any franchise in the league.

It will be interesting to watch whether the front office takes the same squad to the 2026 season as the GM expressed desire to work with Kelsey Mitchell’s contract as a priority, and then look out for the rest of the roster spots.
Caitlin Clark Happy With Indiana Fever’s 2025 Season
The former Iowa star is happy with her team’s performance in the 2025 season. Along with her, Sophie Cunningham and Sydney Colson were two players from the initial squad who missed the majority of the season. The players signed on hardship contracts – Aari McDonald and Chloe Bibby also had season-ending injuries, restricting all five players from the playoff appearances. Yet, Stephanie White and Co. pushed the limits to reach Game 5 of the WNBA semifinals.
Reacting to the team’s season performance, CC thanked fans for the support. In her ‘X’ post, she wrote, “So much to be proud of, shoutout the fans for staying with us all year.”

The player will be eager to come back in the 2026 season, and with her request to Sophie, it seems like she is willing to have the same team to win the championship.
