The WNBA players are not at all happy with whatever the authorities are throwing at them financially. As the CBA deadline has been extended twice now, the WNBA came up with a $1.1 million max salary offer.
Immediately, the players noticed that the offer did not include the $1.1 million sum as the base salary. Thus, with no choices left, the WNBPA had to reject it. Now, next up, towards the start of this month, the likes of Cathy Engelbert did propose a base salary offer of $1 million.
But then again, athletes like Brianna Turner lashed out after noting all the housing cuts. And while it might seem like the WNBA is trying, the reality is quite different. A small stat will reveal why the WNBA players are so frustrated with the pay scale of the league. Clark, one of the top prospects, earns almost peanuts from the WNBA compared to her sponsorship earnings.

Caitlin Clark Has A Huge Pay Dispute In The WNBA
Clark is ranked as the number 6 highest-paid female athlete in the world at the moment. But surprisingly, most of her income comes from brand sponsorships. And while that might be normal to a certain extent, the difference in the numbers is staggering.
According to a recent report from Sportico, Clark gets $114,000 from the WNBA as her salary. Now, this number, when compared to her earnings from sponsorships, looks quite minuscule. After all, the Fever star earns a whopping $16 million from the big brands.
Caitlin Clark being #6 in highest paid female athletes while having $114,000 as her WNBA salary but having over $16 mil in big name sponsorship is absolutely diabolical.

Currently, Clark’s sponsors include the likes of Nike, Gatorade, State Farm, Wilson, Gainbridge and Lilly, and more. And looking at such a disparity in earnings, Napheesa Collier recently demanded more money for Clark.
Napheesa Collier Demands More Money For Caitlin Clark
Collier has been one of the biggest names when it comes to actively pushing for a better CBA deal. From the very beginning, she has criticized the likes of Engelbert and called out the league leadership for their alleged lack of accountability.

Now, in a recent statement, Collier has questioned how Clark, who has so many contributions to the league, earns so little. “The amount of money that Caitlin Clark has made the league is insane, and she’s getting 0% of it because we have no rev share,” Collier said. “She gets less than $80,000 a year, and she’s bringing in, like, hundreds of millions of dollars. It’s insane.”
