Every team would want to have its best players fit and fine all throughout the season. Unfortunately for the Indiana Fever, things haven’t gone as expected. After an incredible rookie season, fans expected Caitlin Clark to take the WNBA by storm in her second year. But some lingering injuries have held her back, with no definitive update on when things will get back to normal.
Clark has appeared in just 13 games for the Fever this season. On the contrary, she has missed close to 20 games. Now that her return timeline has stretched, fans are wondering when the 23-year-old will get back in action. Thankfully, coach Stephanie White has some positive updates.
Stephanie White Details Significant Activity From Caitlin Clark
Fever head coach Stephanie White has stayed busy ever since Clark’s absence began. After all, no coach would want to manage the team without the primary star. Thus, the Fever head coach is keeping an eagle eye on the progress of the 2x All-Star.
In a recent update, White pointed out that Clark’s performance has improved significantly. She has started doing full-court running sessions and has also been working on her endurance. However, despite the upbeat news, Clark is not expected to return to WNBA action anytime soon. That’s because she is still unable to participate in full team practice.
“Caitlin Clark (groin) not yet practicing; has been doing full court running and endurance work,” said White.

Such news surely comes as a dampener for the fans. However, as per previous updates from White, the management is not looking to rush with Clark’s injury. As this is the third time the 23-year-old has suffered a setback, the team wants to have patience and wait till she is fully recovered. Meanwhile, sitting on the bench for so long has become quite tiresome for the Iowa star as well. And recently, she opened up about her challenges.

Caitlin Clark Makes Her Voice Heard After Frustrating Time On The Sidelines
Missing out on games on a regular basis is somewhat of an alien concept for Clark. In the past five seasons of her hooping career, the 23-year-old featured in 185 games back-to-back. However, now that her groin is restricting her game time significantly, the WNBA Rookie of the Year is having some significant challenges. Appearing on an episode of the ‘Bird’s Eye View’ podcast, the Fever guard detailed her challenges.

“It’s just been so challenging being active, playing four games, and then not. And then not feeling the best and then frustrated of how hard I worked in the offseason and all I do is rehab and continue to do this process. … I think that’s been the hardest part, the stop-and-go of everything,” Caitlin Clark told Sue Bird (Via X/@YoItsRosie).
Surely, such an anti-climax was not something that Clark had hoped for. After getting bullied physically, she transformed her body and gained a significant amount of muscle. But with her leg injury kicking in, it looks like fans are in for a longer wait.
