Cameron Brink is back on the court, and she’s back bold. After missing over a year with a tough ACL injury, the Los Angeles Sparks forward burst back into action with a bang. In just her second game of 2025, Brink put her name alongside Atlanta Dream’s Brittney Griner in the WNBA record books.
In her presence, the Sparks racked a heart-pounding 108-106 double-overtime win over the Seattle Storm. While she was away from the wood court through her 2024 rookie season, the comeback couldn’t be more merrier.
Cameron Brink Levels Brittney Griner In WNBA Block Record
With the Sparks sitting at 12-15, scrapping for a playoff spot, Brink’s return is giving fans something to cheer about. And it is coming at an exciting time when most other teams are struggling to make a fitting roster.
Brink’s return is straight-up electric. She’s now tied with Brittney Griner and Candace Parker as the fifth-fastest player to hit 39 career blocks, doing it in just 17 games as per Athlon Sports. Only Margo Dydek, Griner, and a couple of others got there quicker. Averaging 6.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks in her two games this season, Brink’s been a defensive force.

In that wild Storm game, her rim protection helped seal the deal for L.A., and this would be everything the small forward wished for while nursing her injury. Sitting out her rookie year while players like Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese became stars was rough. But Brink’s proving she’s ready to shine.
With the Sparks just outside the playoff picture, her shot-blocking could be a game-changer. So, what else does this 23-year-old bring to a stacked Sparks squad looking to make a postseason push?

Cameron Brink Shining As Bright In Her WNBA Return
While the answer to the above question would be more than just a one-liner, Brink is giving us all the reasons to talk. Her return is a big boost for a Sparks team powered by Dearica Hamby and Azura Stevens, who are both dropping over 14.9 points and 8.1 rebounds a game.

Her 2.0 blocks per game add a defensive edge L.A.’s been missing, especially at home, where they’ve struggled. Alongside the new signing of Alissa Pili, another tough forward, Brink could help turn tight games into wins.
The Sparks are on fire, winning six of their last seven, and Brink’s energy is a big part of that. With the Fever, led by Clark and Mitchell, coming up, her blocks could be the key to a huge win.
Fans will wait to see how things turn around in the long run. If not this season, hopefully, the following season will line things up.
