A slight glimpse is sufficient to measure a player’s quality. Cameron Brink might have played just 14 minutes after the 13-month-long break due to injury, but she was active and aggressive on the court. The Los Angeles Sparks fan base was happy with her performance.
Even though the side lost the game, the coach had many positives. She especially praised the returning rookie and her game.
Lynne Roberts Impressed By Cameron Brink’s Return
Fans lined up, and celebrities were in the stands to welcome the 2024 rookie after a 406-day break. It didn’t take long to see her in action. The HC called her off the bench just seven minutes into the game. Returning from an ACL injury has always been a challenge for many athletes, but the star showed her resilience and determination in the recovery and delivered on the court.

“I thought she did a good job. To be honest, she was more comfortable out there than I anticipated her to be, just because of how long she’s been out, and coming in mid-season is hard. I thought she did a good job. She was active. I need to watch it back, but I thought she did a good job,” Roberts said in the post-game interview.
The player herself acknowledged that she was nervous at the beginning, but later it was like ‘riding a bike’ for her.
Even though the star didn’t put up high numbers in the game, she did manage to tick all the stats – points, assists, blocks, steals, and rebounds. She will be in action again on August 1, against the Seattle Storm at the Climate Pledge Arena. The second-year forward will be hoping for more game time in that matchup.
