Candace Parker has been quite a presence in the female basketball realm. Following a superb career, Parker has now transitioned to an analyst. Putting forth her valuable input about the game, Parker recently revealed how she got a $12 check from the WNBA.
However, in a recent update, two WNBA legends have received an incredible honor. Parker, along with Elena Delle Donne, is in the lead for a very prestigious award.

In a recent update, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame has revealed a list of 21 finalists. And in what came as a pleasant surprise, both Parker and Delle Donne led one particular list of four women. The selections were made by the women’s committee, and along with the aforementioned duo, Jennifer Azzi and Chamique Holdsclaw too, were also part of the list.
Surely, there can be no doubts about the choices. Parker is often referred to as the best female basketball player of all time. Playing in the WNBA, the 39-year-old is a two-time MVP. She has also won the WNBA title thrice playing with three different teams. While she won her first championship back in 2016 with the Los Angeles Sparks, the legendary player won two more with the Chicago Sky (2021) and the Las Vegas Aces (2023).

Next up, Delle Donne, too, has had a stellar career. Winning two MVPs in the WNBA, she also made it to the All-Star team on seven occasions. Her best season came in 2019, when Delle Donne guided the Washington Mystics to a WNBA title. Meanwhile, as Parker will be happy with her latest achievement, she recently dropped a strong response on the CBA turmoil that is plaguing the WNBA.

The ongoing fiasco between the WNBPA and the WNBA has been going on for quite some time. But despite the WNBA being adamant in its stance of not raising the revenue share, the players’ union, too, has stood its ground.
Reflecting on the situation, Parker stated, “I think it’s super important for the WNBA to kind of set the bar. A lot of things the WNBA has been first. It’s the longest-standing sports league in the US, and it’s that way for a reason because we’ve always stood on principles, we’ve always stood on business.”
