The name Candace Parker brings back a lot of memories. Playing for the University of Tennessee, Parker made her skills known right away. She guided her team to consecutive NCAA championships and announced herself as the next big star in the hoops realm. And after some incredible accomplishments, while she has put an end to her bejewelled career, the 39-year-old has now landed a historic contract with TNT.
The 2016 WNBA champion has announced her retirement from the competitive realm. But that has not stopped her from remaining involved with the game. Since 2019, the WNBA legend has been associated with the broadcasting and coverage team of TNT. And now, she has some more responsibilities to shoulder on her platter.
Candace Parker Elated After Landing New Role With TNT
According to reports, TNT has roped in Parker for a multi-year contract recently. Owing to her obligations under her contract, the 39-year-old will be serving a more expansive role in the coming days. The two-time WNBA MVP will continue to serve her usual role as an analyst for CBS Sports. A role that brought out the unfiltered side of the WNBA icon.
Not shying away from her opinions, Parker has boldly commented on her choice of the 2025 rookie. She has also lashed out at the athletes for their ‘awful’ All-Star show. Now, adding to her analysis journey, she will also be covering BIG EAST, Unrivaled, March Madness, and more. And with so much on her platter, the 39-year-old expressed her elation after extending her time with TNT.
“I’m grateful to keep doing what I love with my TNT Sports family. Getting to cover the Big EAST, Big 12, March Madness, and now Unrivaled — it all means a lot. These moments are special, and I don’t take any of it for granted,” said Parker.
