Chelsea Gray is currently on top of the WNBA world. As the WNBA season came to a close, it was the Las Vegas Aces that emerged victorious, sweeping the Phoenix Mercury 4-0. And one of the architects helping the Aces take the win was none other than the WNBA veteran. Gray became the first player to win the WNBA and Unrivaled in the same year. However, things were not at all smooth with the Aces right from the start.
In fact, the team struggled significantly in the early phases of the tournament. To the point that fans and critics almost wrote the Aces off. Meanwhile, now with the tag of the champions behind them, Gray is lashing out at the haters.
Chelsea Gray Gives Befitting Reply To Haters
When the tournament started this year, the Aces had quite a lofty billing. However, quite contrary to expectations, the team failed to establish a foothold in the game. In fact, the team also came face-to-face with some embarrassing losses. For instance, the likes of Gray and co. traveled to Indiana this July and squared off against a Caitlin Clark-less Fever. Shockingly enough, the Aces suffered an 81-54 loss as haters opined that the Aces are done for the season.

And this is where Gray sounded utterly proud after being able to turn around the season. Following their title triumph, Gray took to her X, formerly known as Twitter account, the Aces star wrote, “Fewffffff we da champs. People gotta eat their wordsssssss.”

Chelsea Gray Is Now The Only Active Four-Time Champion
As the Aces are dancing in glory, the limelight is being shone brightly upon A’ja Wilson. So much so that the Aces head coach Becky Hammon compared Wilson to Michael Jordan and LeBron James. However, at 33, Gray also played a pivotal role in propelling the side towards a title run. Fans even nicknamed the 33-year-old veteran the “Point Gawd” for her sublime basketball display. And after winning her recent championship with the Aces, Gray made history.

The Aces star has now become the only active WNBA veteran to have won the title four times. Sue Bird, Maya Moore, Seimone Augustus, Sheryl Swoopes, Tina Thompson, and Cynthia Cooper are the only other names to have achieved the feat so far. However, all of them are retired at the moment.
Meanwhile, commenting on her dream run, Gray sounded emotional as she said, “Man, they counted me out bro. They said a lot of noise, man. But champions take care of everything.”
