The Las Vegas Aces completed the comeback of the season in dominant fashion and won the 2025 WNBA championship, sweeping the finals series. As much as A’ja Wilson was instrumental in the season, Chelsea Gray played a vital role in the team’s rise.
The story continues at the Unrivaled league with Gray taking more responsibility for the defending champion. She went on to win the 1-on-1 competition and even earned the MVP title for her performance.
Yet with both seasons over, the attention turned to the CBA discussions, and the veteran guard spoke about players’ views towards the gap between WNBPA demands and WNBA offers.

Chelsea Gray Drops Concerning Update
Fans felt relieved by the players’ recent approach to the CBA talks, as the media reported that the players were ‘no-strike’ in mind. WNBPA VP Alysha Clark, though, corrected the notion and put the league on alert.
In a recent interview, the Aces’ guard also sided with her former teammate and said, “Obviously we said if it comes to it (strike), it was overwhelming the percentage that said yes. Like we will be ok going on a strike.”

She explained that part of her responsibility is sitting in smaller union calls, gathering key messaging, bringing it back to her teammates for feedback, and then relaying the team’s stance to the executive committee. She also fields questions from teammates who may not feel comfortable reaching out directly—serving as a bridge between the Aces locker room and the committee.
While the players are looking to take the discussion to the wire, the WNBA is still holding on to its position and can only approve a 15% revenue share.
On the work front, Grey will suit up again for Team USA and will have a different role this time for the FIBA World Cup games.
Chelsea Gray Ready For National Duty
The WNBA decided March 10 as the final date to finalize the CBA terms; irrespective of that, some players will be on the court the next day playing for Team USA in the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers.

The three-time WNBA champion will be one of them, but might play a guiding role in a roster full of many young stars. Gray won many titles at the international level and will see the team’s smooth transition to a newer roster.
Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers are other guards on the roster looking to take over the starting position for the national team, and the 33-year-old will happily guide them in the process.
