The Indiana Sky has surprised everyone. With the likes of Sophie Cunningham and Caitlin Clark sitting out, things looked quite somber for the Fever. Having proved the critics wrong, Fever took a savage shot at the WNBA experts following their Atlanta Dream victory. But what they did afterwards was something beyond expectation. Facing off against the Las Vegas Aces, Indiana had some extraordinary displays of basketball. And as they clinched a 89-73 victory, Chennedy Carter came up with an interesting thought.
Quite expectedly, the win reflected how well the team has been gelling internally. With Stephanie White leading the pack with some exceptional tactical masterclass, the likes of Carter are coming up with some wholehearted praises.
Chennedy Carter Is Backing The ‘Underdog’ Indiana Fever
Chennedy Carter is a former Chicago Sky player. However, despite being an ardent rival of the Fever, the phenomenal victory got the attention of Carter. Quite surprisingly, the former Sky star praised the Fever and also called the win ‘inspiring.’ And that was not all. While the Fever was an underdog in the series, Carter extended her support towards the underdogs. She also pointed out how much she liked watching the underground win.

“it’s something about underdogs that will always make me root for them. no matter what team or who you are 🔥its inspiring!” Carter wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Meanwhile, such praise coming from Carter was utterly surprising. That is because the Sky star was part of the team that developed a fierce rivalry with the Fever back in 2024. In fact, she was also the one who shouldered Clark to the floor once! Meanwhile, with the Fever getting all the attention, Kelsey Mitchell emerged as the star of the show.

Kelsey Mitchell Makes Merry As Indiana Fever Powers Through
Mitchell had been one of the Fever’s go-to players in the absence of their primary stars. And while Mitchell dropped a heartfelt praise for Stephanie White, she also made sure that her performance spoke for her. Taking in the Aces, Mitchell played like a champion. Dropping 34 points, the 29-year-old entered the history books with her superb performance.

According to reports from ESPN, the Fever star is the only one to score 34 points in the WNBA’s first semifinal appearance. Previously, the record was held by Lauren Jackson, who scored 31 points back in 2024. Apart from these two, the other names in the prestigious list are Breanna Stewart, with 28 points, and Cynthia Cooper, with 31.
