Former Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter is currently playing in China with Wuhan Shengfan. While she is putting up excellent numbers in the Chinese league, she constantly keeps an eye on the WNBA and stays updated with the news and happenings.
On social media, she also stays active and responds to fan posts. Recently, Carter quips at a fan comment over the Chicago Sky’s concerning pattern over the years. However, her cryptic post on social media has now grabbed attention.
Chennedy Carter’s Cryptic ‘Announcement’ Post Hints Return To States
The former Texas player was top pick in the 2020 WNBA draft and lived up to her status with a solid performance in the league. During her four seasons in the league, she averaged nearly 15 points, three rebounds and three assists as a guard.

Though her numbers saw massive surge in the chinses league, (31 points, eight rebounds and six assists) the player looked for return to the States and her new cryptic message hints at fulfilment of her dream. “Announcement sooooon,” Carter wrote on her Instagram story with a video of her Chicago Sky days.

Also, her story contains a building with ‘Miami” written over it. This clearly hints at he possible participation in the Unrivaled league which will be starting from January in Florida. The player or league haven’t made any public announcement, but her ‘soooon’ hints at that possibility also.

While the Sky struggled to pit offensive game in the 2025 season, Carter’s response certainly highlights her urge to be back in the WNBA. The guard formed a great relation with Angel Reese, yet the franchise opted to keep her away from the roster.
Now with her cryptic post, fans could see her back in the US for the Unrivaled League.
