ESPN recently crowned Paige Bueckers as its second top young star. And while some might not agree with the rankings, there are a lot of reasons to agree. Playing in her rookie year, Bueckers has been phenomenal in her on-court display. Not only has she garnered important points for herself, but the 23-year-old also kept the WNBA hype train going. After all, with Caitlin Clark absent, it was the Dallas’ star’s performances that kept the fan interest intact. And looking at early dominance, Minnesota Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve shared some words of praise.
The Dallas Wings continued their poor run once again. Ravaged by injuries, Wings surrendered to Lynx in a 96-71 victory. However, even in the face of defeat, one name stood out for Dallas. And that was none other than Bueckers.

Bueckers chipped in with 17 points along with a couple of assists and a rebound. With 623 points, the 23-year-old is now ranked at number 6 on the All-time rookie scoring list. Noticing her impact on the court, Lynx head coach was not shy about admitting that the former Huskies’ star is a special talent.

“Point guard, I mean, she plays mostly off-ball, and they sort of figured that out with Paige. There are times when she initiates, but they really use her more off-ball. They’ve really navigated her best spaces well. Clearly, she likes to post up,” said Reeve.

And that was not all. Reeve also stated how watching Bueckers made her remember the time when Napheesa Collier was being entrusted with a heavier scoring duty for Minnesota. Now, that is something huge for the 23-year-old. Getting compared with Collier, who was hailed by Sophie Cunningham as the WNBA’s toughest star, is no mean feat. Meanwhile, with the Wings’ season going haywire, Bueckers recently channeled her inner Stephen Curry.

Paige Bueckers Quotes Stephen Curry To Give Fans Hope
The Dallas Wings had a lot of dreams coming into this year. Injuries have battered Dallas, knocking the team out of the playoff race. Unfortunately, while the fans wanted the team to finish off on a high note, the team has been looking quite out of sorts at the moment. And after their recent 100-78 loss to the Atlanta Dream, Bueckers had a message for her fans.

“I mean, just to stick with it, like, whoever we have in that locker room, whoever puts on a Wings jersey that night, that’s who we’re going to war with. And I remember Steph Curry, before the Warriors became the Warriors, like, he tweeted out, like, ‘just stick with us… We’re gonna figure it out,” said Bueckers.
Well, this was a nod to what Stephen Curry said back in 2009. When the Golden State Warriors were not a brand yet, Curry said, “Promise to all the Warrior fans…we will figure this thing out…if it’s the last thing we do we will figure it out.” Well, the rest is history. Now, fans wait to see whether Bueckers can replicate that as well.
