The Chicago Sky has been looking for a way out into the light. For most of the season, the Sky has been suffering some ugly losses. Despite Angel Reese putting in a stellar show, the team has not been able to break free. And now, one of the players has pinpointed what exactly has been going wrong for the team.
Having reached almost the mid-season, the Sky are languishing in the 11th position. With 17 losses and 7 wins, the Sky has yet to find its mojo. Speaking about the sorry state of affairs, Rachel Banham seems to have the perfect answer.
Rachel Banham Details ‘Gross’ Feelings Following Blowout Loss
Chicago Sky faced off against the Seattle Storm in the recent game. Now then, suffering a 57-95 defeat, the mood of the team was, quite expectedly, down in the dumps. Shedding light on the performance, veteran guard Rachel Banham looked pretty much frustrated.
“It felt gross. We’re just not consistent. It just feels gross. This is gross basketball, and we know it,” Banham said in the post-game presser.
Banham: "It's felt gross. It's probably how you guys look at it. We're just not consistent. It just feels gross. This is gross basketball and we know that."

Surely, the Sky got off to a flyer in the initial phases. But owing to some loose play, the Chicago-based side failed to capitalize on the momentum. Instead, they let the Storm take full control of the second half. Dropping a staggering 56 points, the Storm ensured that the Sky had no chances of getting back into the game.
Adding to the woes further, the Chicago Sky has suffered a couple of defining blows. First they had to play without Ariel Atkins. And now, the Sky is doing without the services of Angel Reese. Nursing a back injury, Reese was forced to sit out against the Storm. And this defeat was only the latest chapter in Chicago Sky’s horrific season so far.

Chicago Sky Is Running Down The Hill Of Losses
Just before the All-Star weekend, the Chicago Sky were looking pretty comfortably placed. Running riot with her sublime display, Angel Reese recorded eight back-to-back double-doubles. She also dropped at least 15 points in each of the games. Securing four victories, things looked to be changing for the good.

Unfortunately, that did not happen. With Atkins and Reese out, the Sky has now lost four games in a row. Initially, they lost against the Atlanta Dream. Following the All-Star break, the Sky was dominated thoroughly by the Minnesota Lynx and Seattle Storm. With grim faces all around, the Sky needs to find its footing pretty quickly now.
