The Chicago Sky might have lost its 28th game of the season, but HC Tyler Marsh is satisfied with Angel Reese’s gameplay and impact. The star finished the game with 17 rebounds and 10 points against the Aces. Praising the forward, the first-time coach hails her grit going against A’ja Wilson and co.
The Chicago franchise was already eliminated from postseason qualification. However, Reese believes her team’s love for basketball is keeping them motivated for the upcoming games.
Tyler Marsh Praises Angel Reese For Her ‘Grit’
The Windy City franchise is facing heat from all sides. Their failure to reach the playoffs, despite multiple superstars on the roster, put them under scrutiny. The team won just nine games this season and has already set the franchise’s worst record (below 25%) for the first time since 2006.

Despite this, some sparkling performances from players were seen—like Kamilla Cardoso, who finished the game with 19 points and 10 rebounds, and Chi Town Barbie, who once again controlled the paint region and collected 17 rebounds against A’ja Wilson and co.
Praising her for her rebounding prowess, HC said, “[Angel] Reese is one of and on her way to being the greatest rebounder in basketball history.”

The league’s leading rebounder has a 22.7% rebound rate in a game and has averaged above 10 rebounds for the second season in a row. Reese’s teammate, Cardoso, also praised her rebounding impact on the Chicago Sky that helped them win against the New York Liberty.
In the game against the Aces, though, Ariel Akins led the host with 30 points, while Jackie Young led the visitors with 22 points at the Wintrust Arena. MVP candidate A’ja Wilson had 18 points and nine rebounds, leaving the arena with 11 straight wins.
Angel Reese Surpasses Tina Charles’ Double-Double Record
Playing in her 26th game of the 2025 season, Reese recorded her 20th double-double performance. With that, she now has 46 games with 10+ points and 10+ rebounds in her first two seasons, surpassing Tina Charles’ record of 45.
Incredibly, the veteran forward took 68 games to set the record of 45 double-doubles, while Chi-Town Barbie broke the same in just 61 games. With seven more games left in the season, the two-time All-Star would fall just short of Alyssa Thomas’ record of 28 double-doubles in a season. However, it is important to note that the star missed 11 games due to injury.
