The Chicago Sky managed to stop the ‘bleeding’ as they won a game against the Washington Mystics at home. It was a welcome sign for the struggling team. But the fans are still concerned about the team’s star player, Angel Reese, who missed her sixth game of the season, third in a row.
Chi-Town Barbie missed five of the last six games due to a back injury. The team has only won once in her absence this season. Naturally, the fans and media wanted to know about her possible return.
Tyler Marsh Provides Update On Angel Reese’s Return
The Chicago Sky entered the home game against the Washington Mystics behind the season’s worst eight-game losing streak. This was also their worst run since 2014, putting the HC under pressure to win a game. Yet there was no sign of Reese in the lineup.
In the pre-game interview, the first-year coach answered the question on the forward’s availability.
“There isn’t a concrete timetable. To the extent that I know, it’s a back injury, and she continues to be day to day. I mentioned earlier that she wasn’t here for shootaround due to an illness. I think she’s progressing, but it’s still kind of wait and see,” the Sky HC told the media. (Via X/ItsCwaysWorld)

The former LSU star was with the team on the sidelines, wearing a blue shirt and white pants. Before the injury, she had a great season. She averaged 14.2 points on 44.4% shooting and led the league with 12.6 rebounds. While out of action, the star enjoyed Netflix’s popular series and shared a post about it.

Chicago Sky Put Up Strong Performance Without Angel Reese
With an 8-21 record in the league, the Windy City franchise will miss the playoffs. With that, the franchise is seen as a seller in the trade market. Yet every player delivered against the Washington side to win their first game without the two-time All-Star.

Putting in a strong defensive performance, the team restricted the Mystics to less than 20 points in each quarter. Kamilla Cardoso recorded her seventh straight double-double stat line with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Elizabeth Williams once again stepped up for Marsh’s side and scored 18 points with 10 rebounds.
The Mystics, who won their last encounter against the Sky, struggled at Wintrust Arena. Sonia Citron led the visitors with 13 points, while Kiki Iriafen scored 10 points. The rest of their teammates couldn’t cross double-digit scoring.
