When two bottom-placed franchises face each other, it will always be a battle to stay in the playoff contention. A win will allow one of them to push for a place in the top eight. The loser, on the other hand, will see their dream diminishing. Similar was the case with the Chicago Sky and the Dallas Wings.
Angel Reese’s franchise was slightly in a better position than Paige Bueckers’ side, but a win was a ‘must’ for Chi-Town Barbie for her first WNBA Postseason appearance. And her team delivered in the game at Wintrust Arena with a dominant 87-76 win. What happened next was unexpected.
The Chicago Sky Exhibit Confidence After Win Over The Dallas Wings
Both teams started well, finishing the opening quarter 19-18 in favor of the hosts. But in the second quarter, Angel Reese and co. showed well-rounded gameplay, shutting down Bueckers’ offence and extending the one-point lead to eight before the half. Continuing their synchronized play, the Sky kept adding to the lead, not allowing the visitors a chance for a comeback.
Finally, the Chicago-based franchise closed the game with an 11-point victory, bettering their record to 6-13 in the league. The franchise didn’t hold back’ teasing’ the losing side with a ‘Goodnight Dallas’ jibe with the picture of Angel Reese and Rebecca Allen celebrating the win. While it was a late game in the ‘W’, the basketball followers do understand the hidden meaning of ‘goodnight’ thanks to NBA Superstar Stephen Curry, whose ‘night night’ celebration signifies no chance for the opposing team.
The Sky players dominated the game, led by their ever-dependent AR5. She scored 15 points and collected 11 rebounds, taking her double-double tally to 13 in the 2025 season. Rebecca Allen was clinical, scoring 27 points in as many minutes on the floor. Center Elizabeth Williams was efficient with eight points, five rebounds and six assists.
For the Wings, star rookie Paige Bueckers scored 17 points. Mid-season acquisition Li Yueru scored a team-high 18 points and collected 10 rebounds. Guard JJ Quinerly scored 16 points and provided the most assists, five. The Dallas Wings are in 12th place with a 6-15 record now.

HC Tyler Marsh Hypes Up Chicago Sky’s Win Over Dallas Wings
It had been a tough start for the first-time coach, Tyler Marsh. The talented team suffered multiple losses at the beginning of the 2025 season, putting them in a difficult position to challenge for the playoffs. A season-ending injury to Courtney Vandersloot and losing Kamila Cardoso for a longer period mounted pressure on the struggling side.

But the team, led by Angel Reese, put up some spirited performances, collecting wins over teams like the LA Sparks and Phoenix Mercury. Now, a win over the Dallas Wings will boost their confidence.
During the post-game locker-room talk, he congratulated top scorer Allen, who missed her career high by just one point. He also highlighted that the side outscored the opposition every quarter.
Lauding the defensive plays, Marsh mentioned that it was a great team effort keeping the opposition below 20 in three quarters. Tyler Marsh’s team will now host league leaders Minnesota Lynx, which will be a bigger challenge for them.
