The Chicago Sky did not have a good campaign for the second time in a row. While they finished as the last team back in 2024, the team ended the campaign in the second last position this year. And that is despite the fact that Sky had the likes of Angel Reese in their ranks.
Thankfully, things are slowly beginning to change for the franchise, it seems. After two grim seasons, Sky will now be hosting the 2026 WNBA All-Star game. And as the excitement about the same builds, NBA star Dwayne Wade is welcoming the situation with open arms.

Dwyane Wade Excited As Chicago Sky To Host All-Star Game In July
The Sky will be hosting the All-Star game for the second time in three years. Having already done the same back in 2022, the fans are already pretty much excited to watch all the WNBA stars come together under one roof.
And while July 25, 2026, is still far away, the preparations for the same have already begun at the United Center. Speaking on the matter, team co-owner Dwyane Wade had a lot of heartwarming things to say.
“Those teams allowed me to dream. They made basketball feel bigger than the game. They made it feel possible. What we come here to do is not about the game of basketball necessarily,” Wade said. He further added, “It’s about what this game of basketball and what this opportunity can really bring to the city, to those kids that were like myself.”

Surely, the vibrance in the air is looking significantly high. Meanwhile, aside from the All-Star game, Angel Reese has also sent a warning message to her team’s front office.
Angel Reese Wants A Strong Performance From Chicago Sky In 2026
Following the exit of Chicago last year, things turned pretty murky between Reese and her team. Calling out the lack of quality publicly, the Chi-town Barbie also had a fallout with her fellow players. However, putting behind all of the bitter memories, Reese now seemingly has only one motto. And that is to win.

Setting a target for the Sky in 2026, Reese stated, “Win win win win. 2026, I am looking for the playoffs. I am trying to get to the playoffs. I hate to be at home watching finals. It is not great. I wanna be in the finals. Just give me the finals, just give me the playoffs.”
