The absence of Caitlin Clark may have dampened the excitement just a bit. But one player used that void as a chance to make a statement. As the Indiana Fever squared off against the Chicago Sky, Chloe Bibby made her debut. And with a dominant performance, she attracted the approval of a head coach not easily impressed.
Clark’s indefinite absence due to a recurring groin injury forced the Fever into necessary adjustments. One such move involved the short-term signing of Bibby. The 6-foot-2 forward’s previous WNBA stint with the Golden State Valkyries ended just weeks earlier. Indiana brought her in on a seven-day contract, hoping for rotation depth. However, what they got was no less than a gem. A gem that even had Stephanie White talking.
Stephanie White Hails Chloe Bibby For Her Impressive Performance
The turning point came midway through Indiana’s 93–78 win over the Chicago Sky. As Bibby stepped onto the court, she proceeded to offer precisely the kind of spacing the team had lacked. Bibby dropped eight points, two rebounds, and a block on the night. And immediately, Stephanie White took note.
“She did a really good job of understanding offense, understanding where she was going to get hers, and then staying shot-ready,” White said, after the win.

White further noted how Bibby was active on the defensive front. The Fever’s head coach stated that the 27-year-old did not let any easy passes go through. She also explained how, using her size to advantage, the Fever can now look to stretch the field from the coming game onwards. Surely, such a comment does mean that Bibby is all but confirmed for Fever’s next outing. Meanwhile, despite having a stiff rivalry, White recently gave Angel Reese her deserved flowers.

Chi-Town Barbie has developed her game significantly more than last year. Despite Sky faltering, Reese has emerged as the best player for the team. Owing to her incredible performance, Reese also earned herself an All-Star selection this season. And thus, despite being injured, the 23-year-old got her flowers from Stephanie White.

“It doesn’t really change the strategy. We prepare for Angel when she’s on the floor. We know that she is the best rebounder in this league. The way that they utilize her in that point forward position sometimes creates some challenges,” White told the media (Via X/Brian_Haenchen).

Thus, with Reese and Clark waiting for their return, fans will be excited to see how they fare.
