Angel Reese might be doing some awesome work in and out of the hardwood. Yet, the controversies do not seem to be leaving her side anytime soon. In a recent fiasco, Reese was falsely accused of calling Michael Jordan insecure.
And if you thought this was a stretch, then Angela Yee surely dragged things a little too far. Fans were shocked when Yee published fake Marilyn Monroe quotes from Reese. Now, then, all of these do not seem to be bothering Reese much.
She, on the contrary, has made some incredible moves outside of the WNBA realm. One of the biggest ones was undoubtedly her debut with the Victoria’s Secret brand. Not far behind, she earned the title of BET Sportswoman of the Year. But yet again, things turned murky as Claressa Shields happened to throw shade at the Bayou Barbie.

Claressa Shields Clears The Air Over Alleged Angel Reese Rift
Soon after BET named Reese the Sportswoman of the Year, women’s boxing icon Shields expressed her disappointment. Immediately, the fans took it as a hint that she did not want Reese to win the accolade.
However, in her recent appearance in an episode of the ‘Club Shay Shay’ podcast, the female boxing star cleared the air. Reflecting on the same, the boxer said, “It was my first time being nominated for the Sportswoman of the Year award with BET and I just thought I won it. The only one who had an Olympic gold medal up there was Simone Biles. So I am like either she gon get it or I’mma get it. So it was no knock ot any of the other girls.”
"I hate when they spin narratives. They want to spin everything and make it into something negative. I like what she's doing. … @Reese10Angel is killing it." – @Claressashields pic.twitter.com/mKK9vWblVK

Shields further pointed out that she hated when the media tries to twist everything and brings in a negative angle to almost everything. In fact, Shields also praised Reese, saying that she liked whatever she was doing. Meanwhile, quite on the same line, Reese issued a warning to her fans not to believe everything they hear.
Angel Reese Warns Her Fans Of Fake News
With the CBA negotiations underway, the situation is already tense. And to add further fuel to the fire, recent claims about Reese demanding NBA-like pay circulated on the internet.

And as it turned out to be fake news, Reese warned her fans of such things. She wrote on her X, formerly known as Twitter handle, “Rent really be DUE. Can’t believe everything you read.”

She further explained, “Everything I say here, if you all don’t see the clip, you don’t see the video come from my mouth, or me saying certain things – don’t not believe it. There is somebody who said that something about I said that there are seven days in a week and there are seven something. What the **** you all are talking about? I never said that.”
Surely, with the fake quotes plaguing the lives of athletes significantly, the media houses must be responsible enough to avoid such incidents in the future.
