During the WNBA All-Star game, the CBA negotiation remained a burning topic. Players showed up in “Pay Us What You Owe Us” warm-up t-shirts. It just highlighted the gap between the league and WNBPA. But what fueled the gap between the players’ union? Kelsey Plum’s jab at Caitlin Clark.
In the post-game interview, the Sparks star harshly commented on Team Clark members not showing up for the ‘t-shirt meeting.’ Although they eventually were in sync, wearing the symbolic warm-up wearables, Analyst Colin Cowherd took it to another level and asked the 30-year-old guard to ‘grow up.’
Colin Cowherd With Reality Check To Kelsey Plum Over Caitlin Clark Comments
In the post-game interview, the four-time All-Star narrated the story behind the T-shirts and how a meeting was held to protest against CBA negotiations. In the end, she mentioned that no members of Clark’s team were present for the meeting. Sabrina Ionescu, a member of Team Clark, was present at the interview and showed her disagreement. But fans were not happy with the ‘cheap shot’ at CC.
On his podcast, Colin Cowherd, a senior analyst, addressed the issue and gave the former champion some earfuls.
“The t-shirts don’t bother me. But why do you take a shot at the golden goose, Caitlin Clark? You guys were flying, before she arrived, on one of those airlines that made you pay for a cup of water. One of those airlines that the planes are the color of a highlighter. And now you’re flying private. Keep your issues to yourself. You went from a Motel 6 in a sketchy part of town to a Four Seasons in the shopping district. Stop talking. I don’t mind the t-shirts, I think you have leverage… But it’s just misstep after misstep. It’s time to grow up, girls,” Cowherd said on The Herd podcast (Via X/@theHerd)
The 61-year-old podcaster mentioned that the players should not target the ‘Golden goose’ of the league. He even added the part that players will get the raise they deserve after a successful year, since Iowa star’s entry into the league, considering the commercials of the business.

Kelsey Plum Never Misses A Chance To Target Caitlin Clark
The 2024 first overall pick never had an easy entry to the ‘W’. She was constantly targeted by the veterans off the court and on the court; she was ‘manhandled’. Yet she broke multiple records, staying true to her game. Former LV Aces guard was among the ones who took jibes at the 23-year-old Fever guard both on and off the court.
In 2024, when Iowa guard became the all-time leading scorer in the NCAA tournament, she shared a cryptic congratulatory post, hinting at ‘level of game.’
She wrote, “@CaitlinClark22 Congratulations on the record, and really your entire season! I appreciate what you do for the game, much respect and love! See you at the next level, hopefully sooner than later ??”
In a podcast, after the Indiana Fever had secured their top pick, Plum advised to change her game for the team and stop chasing individual accolades. Another shade highlighting how CC’s success overshadows her team’s success. During the 2025 All-Star game, she also mentioned that her team is a lot better than their opponents, Team Clark, and wants to blow them away.
Although some of the comments were meant to lighten the situation or have a friendly jibe, fans didn’t like targeting the 2024 Rookie of the Year Winner in such a manner.
