Connecticut Sun Has One Message For 2026 WNBA Season Ticket Holders
Amid months of speculation about the Connecticut Sun’s long-term future, the franchise delivered a direct message to its most loyal supporters, noting the team will play the 2026 season at Mohegan Sun Arena.

The organization informed season-ticket holders via email that the auto-renewal window for 2026 is now open and runs through August 22, 2025. In that message, the Sun acknowledged the public discussion surrounding potential ownership changes but emphasized its commitment to remaining in Uncasville for next season.
“We know there has been a lot of conversation in the media about the future of the team,” the email read, “but please know that we will be playing the 2026 season here at Mohegan Sun Arena.”

However, the clarification comes at a pivotal time. The Mohegan Tribe, which has owned the franchise since 2003, previously hired an investment firm to evaluate strategic options as the WNBA expands and franchise valuations rise.
With new teams in Portland and Toronto set to debut in 2026, and additional markets such as Philadelphia, Cleveland, and Detroit on the horizon, the league’s growth has intensified questions about Connecticut’s long-term positioning.
