The WNBA released its 2026 season schedule late in January, and franchises used the opportunity to lock in their arenas, travel plans, and training schedules. As expected, franchises like the Dallas Wings and Chicago Sky played their games against the Indiana Fever in NBA arenas to attract larger audiences. The Connecticut Sun also followed suit.
The front office chose the Los Angeles Sparks home game, moving it to the TD Garden, while the Wings will host Hartford. Interestingly, the side’s venue selection raised many questions, especially given that ownership talks are still ongoing.

Connecticut Sun’s Venues Raise Questions About Its Relocation
The Connecticut Sun is in an altogether different situation right now after an 11th-place finish, promising young core, and above all, the future ownership. The Houston Rockets ownership group is hoping to get a WNBA franchise as early as 2027 (since the Sun will play the 2026 season at Mohegan Sun Arena).
After rejecting Boston’s offer, the WNBA also denied Sun’s possible move to Connecticut. As the Sun had received similar offers from Connecticut and Boston, they were ready for the sale. So now, scheduling games in those arenas instead of Toyota Center is clearly a challenge for the WNBA’s decision, and, indirectly, a question about their relocation.

Connecticut Sun GM Morgan Tuck addresses fans’ desperation to bring franchise to Boston, but refuses any confirm.

A Potent Roster For Connecticut Sun In 2026
With players like Saniya Rivers, Aneesah Morrow, and Leila Lacan as promising stars, the team has a chance to lock down Aaliyah Edwards, and bringing in Migna Toure will provide them with a competitive edge.
Tina Charles and Marina Mabrey provided veteran leadership in the team. Olivia Nelson-Ododa also proved to be the ‘X-factor’. If they could keep any of these veterans in the next season, it would be a bigger win for the franchise.
