Paige Bueckers has been on a roll since she joined the WNBA last year. Donning the Dallas Wings colors, the 23-year-old broke a lot of records. But now, as she is looking to build on her legacy, Bueckers has urged fans to let her ‘run her own race.’
Meanwhile, as her preparations for the next season are ongoing, Bueckers is making sure that she is not missing out on the offseason fun. Recently, she went back to school to attend the UConn season opener.
And much to the delight of the fans, Bueckers also posed with the Navy band. Continuing the trend of her showing up in different basketball games, the 2025 WNBA Rookie of the Year recently paid a visit to a Dallas Mavericks game. And this gesture left Cooper Flagg mightily impressed.

Cooper Flagg Hails Paige Bueckers For Her Support
Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks squared off against the New Orleans Pelicans in a recent NBA face-off. And much to the delight of the Dallas fans, the Wings’ star, Bueckers, was spotted cheering from the stands. Thankfully, her cheering bore rich fruit as the Mavericks beat the Pelicans with a scoreline of 118-115.
And looking at such jovial support from the WNBA star, Flagg could not help but appreciate the gesture. Speaking about the same, Flagg said, “It’s cool just to see the support and show up and be there for each other, I think that’s pretty cool. Hopefully, we will keep it going moving forward.”

He further added, “Paige… She obviously had an incredible rookie season. She’s gonna do amazing things in her career, so it’s kind of cool for her to show up. I was able to go to one of her games right after the draft when I got down here.”
Surely, Bueckers’ support turned out to be lucky for Flagg as well, as he chipped in with a career-high 29 points. Meanwhile, as the Wings look to rebuild, they have appointed a new head coach. And according to Geno Auriemma, Jose Fernandez is the right fit for Bueckers.
Geno Auriemma Feels Jose Fernandez Will Be A Perfect Fit For Paige Bueckers
It was Geno Auriemma’s coaching during her NCAA days that made Bueckers into a beast. And as the Wings are looking to build their team around the 23-year-old, Auriemma stated earlier that the choice of head coach will play an important role.

But with Fernandez at the helm, Auriemma feels that things should be going pretty smoothly. He said, “I think Jose Fernandez is a great hire by the Dallas Wings. I’ve always had the utmost respect for Jose as a teacher and an innovator. He’s a guy who thinks outside the box, whether that’s recruiting internationally or playing a style of basketball that’s unique. As a person, I think he’s terrific at communicating with his players. He’s a relationship guy. I think he’ll bring tremendous energy, stability, and innovation to that organization.”
