For a league to gain popularity, quality performances do not count. Take, for example, the UFC. Ever since the likes of Conor McGregor and others have started trash-talking, the stakes of the promotion have skyrocketed. And thankfully for the WNBA, the StudBudz duo of Courtney Williams and Natisha Hiedeman is exactly the kind of character the league needs now. And with their unfiltered takes on events, the duo had some interesting words to share about the Jaylyn Sherrod trade.
Williams and Hiedeman have been two of the active commentators for the league. From showing backstage footage from the All-Star weekend to interacting with Tyrese Haliburton, the StudBudz has done it all. Likewise, while welcoming Minnesota Lynx’s latest recruit, the 31-year-old minced no words.
Courtney Williams Takes A Veiled Jab At New York Liberty
In a recent turn of events, Sherrod was traded to the Minnesota Lynx from the Liberty. Playing for a couple of seasons with New York, the former Liberty star failed to make a significant impact. This season too, Sherrod featured in 18 games, but could not make a mark. Thus, looking to explore more opportunities, the 23-year-old signed with Minnesota back on August 8.
Now, speaking about Sherrod joining the Lynx, Williams and Hiedeman looked utterly impressed. However, they also took a veiled shot, stating that the 23-year-old was now with the ‘good guys’ of the league. And that was not all. The 31-year-old Lynx star also attacked Liberty verbally by addressing them as a “punk a**” team.
“Jaylyn is with the good guys now. She left that punk a** team and she’s with the good guys now,” said Williams.

Surely, this was a telling statement from Williams. And it came at a time when Liberty and Lynx are set to face off in consecutive games just days later. As for the details of Sherrod’s contract, she signed a contract with Lynx for the remainder of the season for a $66,079 contract. Meanwhile, such a statement coming from Williams has already created a lot of buzz. But this isn’t her first time getting involved in a controversy.

Courtney Williams Creates A Buzz Online As She Gets Denied Nightclub Entry
Soon after their All-Star game came to a close, a group of WNBA stars headed out to enjoy the night. Led by Courtney Williams, the group was about to enter a nightclub when they were suddenly stopped. The bouncers asked them to show and clarify their identity, which shocked Williams.

The 31-year-old immediately started explaining that they were WNBA stars and also mentioned the All-Star game. Unfortunately, her efforts went in vain as the guards failed to recognize the group. Such an incident instantly became viral as Williams faced significant trolling from the fans. Thus, despite creating a lot of noise, it does not look like the Lynx’s star is going to back down with her unfiltered opinions anytime soon.
