The hint was already there. Napheesa Collier’s injury status got a positive update right ahead of the Fever clash. And when the teams walked out into the middle, things seemed quite rosy for the Minnesota Lynx. Joining the team was none other than Collier. Returning from an injury, things looked normal for the 28-year-old star. And looking at her dominance, Courtney Williams could not help but put her opponents on notice.
Collier has been out for seven games back-to-back. Nursing an ankle injury, the Lynx’s star was pained to watch her team play from the sidelines. Thankfully, as she returned, there were no signs of rust on her. In fact, her impeccable display made Williams feel a lot relieved ahead of the playoffs.
Courtney Williams Predicts Napheesa Collier’s Dominance In The Coming Days
The Minnesota Lynx had one of the biggest heartbreaks last year. Despite playing significantly well, they lost narrowly to the Liberty. But this year, the team has looked pretty resilient in their approach to aim for a title. And they haven’t budged from the number one spot on the table this year. And now, with Lynx getting reinforcements via Collier, it feels that her side is pretty much a big problem for the others.

Speaking to the media after the game, Williams could not hide her excitement. She pointed out that the Lynx was already a champion side. It caused a lot of problems for their opponents in the league. But with the 28-year-old spitting fire, the team is now even more menacing.
“We’re a problem. We’ve been a problem, but now we’re really a problem,” said Williams.

Surely, this is not at all an overstatement from Williams. While Collier took Indiana to the cleaners with her 32-point game, Minnesota was never in a spot of bother. Even with Collier out for so long, the Lynx had not lost a single game while coming back from the All-Star break. Williams, too, had a decent run, which she continued against the Fever, too. She dropped 14 points while chipping in with ten assists and two rebounds. Meanwhile, with Williams threatening her opponents, she would surely like to defeat arch-rivals Liberty soon.
Courtney Williams Expresses Her Honest Take About New York Liberty
Williams has taken a particular dislike towards the New York Liberty recently. While her comments on Liberty after the Jaylyn Sherrod trade went viral, Williams further made comments on their arch-rivals. Back in mid-August, the Lynx took on the Liberty. And without the likes of Collier, it did look like an uphill task for Minnesota. However, in reality, things turned out to be pretty smooth for the Lynx. And right at the helm of things was none other than Williams.

As Lynx won with a scoreline of 86-80, Williams posted a season-high 26 points to help her team go through. Speaking about how she feels about her arch-rivals, Williams stated that she did not want the Liberty to win again. “The fire is there they beat us last year, I don’t need more ammunition. I don’t like them, I love them as people… but when it comes to basketball, no it’s nothing, I don’t want them to win,” said Williams. Surely, the fire within her is evident, and now with Collier coming back to form, the 31-year-old’s dreams might as well be fulfilled.
